FASHION AND STYLE: PATTERN ON PATTERNS

This season showcases a great deal of pattern mixing. You can go wild and do bright patterns on bright patterns or you can make it a little more subtle. The key to mixing patterns the right way is to find something that connects the two patterns. Either being color or similar but opposite themes. In this look, color is the central theme that pulls it all together. Each pattern consist of beige, making it easy to unify the separate pieces. Shoes that also pick off one of the piece's colors also works however you can also do bright colored shoes that compliment colors in the outfit to give you the perfect pattern n pattern look!

FASHION AND STYLE: BIRDY

We all have a fabulous critter sweater we love and this one is mine. I have others but I love my birdy the most. She embodies all my favorite colors, making me lover her even more. A critter sweater is super versatile and in this look it is the perfect piece to spice up my boyfriend jeans. I complete this causal-chic look with a micro tote that is just as cute as my birdy. Lastly I added a very high sandal, and a few accessories that would make my birdy proud!

FASHION AND STYLE: POP PRINCESS.

Every now and then I feel like being extra girly. Dressing up is a joy and I believe that one particular look should not define a true stylist. I believe that all true fashionista's should be able to play around would various trends and make it suit their look and personal style.  I love the whole  princess pop look and I think it is totally easy to make it yours. I love to buy classic or somewhat classic pieces to make them now. In this look I took my classic tank-top, a cute colorful but dark skirt and a princess pink pair of pumps - all very classic and girly and paired it with an edgy pop-chic denim vest. Together all these pieces create a look fit for any wanna-be pop princess!

FASHION AND STYLE: SHORT TRIP

I don't travel as much has I use to but when I do, being stylish and comfortable is an absolute must! On this girls weekend trip, I needed  an outfit that would take me from the airport to hanging out with friends; so I pulled together something cool, fun and of course very chic! If you are making a trip to somewhere that is somewhat warm I suggest you go with layers. I did a light-weight knit top - light weight knits work well in warm climates and keep you somewhat warm in the airport. A blazer is always key, a Linen blazer is even better, travels well and not as heavy as wool. A great pair of dressy shorts go perfect with the knit and blazer, making the outfit a missed-matched suit. I'm not a fan of running through  the airport with heels, so I opted for the coolest flats in my closet. Because my outfit only consisted of black, white and beige I decided to add color with my cool silk scarf, hence  completing my chic, fun and comfortable look ready for a short trip.

FASHION AND STYLE: TRIBAL FLOWERS

I remember learning the anatomy of the hibiscus flower when I was younger. I found myself fascinated with this beautiful flower, which is indigenous to warm climates. Basically the flower has a soft spot in my heart; hence when I found it in Laydeeboutique.com  I had to have it. My beautiful tribal skirt had to be the focal point of my look. I incorporated pieces that would stand out on their own, without taking away from all the pretty flowers. A white cropped sweater, saddle colored sandals with a horse-bit and matching colored cross-body bag do the skirt justice. In the spirit of matching prints, which is huge this season; I decided to throw in a gorgeous multicolored silk scarf, also featuring my precious tribal flower, the hibiscus flower.
